Sanford Christian Academy's desire is that each student receives a quality, Christian education by utilizing the renowned A Beka Book curriculum. This curriculum is used successfully by over one million students around the world. Courses of Study Include:
Kindergarten
- Bible — Creation, Bible stories, and the life of Christ
- Phonics — Letter sounds, blends, one- and two-vowel words, and early reading
- Reading — Learning to read words and sentences using Abeka's phonics-based approach
- Writing — Manuscript or cursive writing, depending on the program
- Numbers/Mathematics — Counting, number recognition, addition, subtraction, money, time, and number patterns
- Science — God's World K5, including animals, plants/seeds, weather, seasons, the seashore, and health
- Social Studies — Community helpers, safety, America, simple geography, and children around the world
- Language Enrichment — Vocabulary, listening skills, oral communication, poetry, and language development
- Developmental/Skills Activities — Fine-motor skills, hand-eye coordination, following directions, cutting, coloring, drawing, etc.
- Arts & Crafts — Painting, gluing, cutting, drawing, crafts, and creative activities
- Music/Activity Time — Songs, rhythms, poetry, drama, and movement
